USABILITY TESTING

I conducted usability testing with five participants to evaluate the Pallet Lotto website on both desktop and mobile devices. The primary objective was to determine whether users could successfully complete the main task flows: drawing a lottery ticket or gifting one.

The biggest change after usability testing was removing the left-side navigation panel and redesigning the home screen. Initially, the home screen let users simply gift or keep their ticket, but the client wanted it to be more detailed and engaging. We updated it to include a leaderboard and user profile, showing personal stats and standings. Ultimately, we made the home page the user’s "ticket inventory", prioritizing easy access to the site’s main action. Left-side navigation functions were integrated into existing flows, simplifying the main screen.
Upon website launch, we had one final iteration. Instead of having a “free ticket” that could be claimed daily, we made it so that users were able to buy more tickets after their free daily spin, so that they could continue buying lottery numbers and keep playing as long as they wanted. The subsequent tickets were purchased by their “Pallet Points”, which were accrued on the parent website.
